Should you still find the LG 34GP950G-B too expensive and want something in the mid-range price category, then the Gigabyte M34WQ is a good alternative. There's also a cheaper version, the LG 34GP83A-B, that doesn't have a local dimming feature, which is good if you aren't going to use it anyways, but the 34GP950G-B still gets brighter and has better colors, so it offers the best overall performance. However, in dark rooms, it doesn't look as good because blacks look gray, and its local dimming feature is terrible, so it's better to disable it altogether. It also has decent reflection handling and great peak brightness, so glare isn't an issue in well-lit rooms. Its out-of-the-box accuracy is great, thanks to its sRGB mode, and it has an amazing color gamut both in SDR and HDR, so images look life-like.
ULTRA WIDE MONITY WINDOWS
The 34-inch screen features a 3440x1440 resolution, which results in good text clarity so you can read text easily, and there's also enough screen space to open a few windows next to each other. However, you have to expect fewer features if you want to save some money, but other than that, it's a great monitor for both gaming and office work. There are a few differences with the LG 38WN95C-W as it has a smaller screen and doesn't have a USB-C input. If you want to save some money, then an upper mid-range monitor like the LG 34GP950G-B is a good choice. It also has a Picture-by-Picture mode so that you can view images from two sources next to each other. Connecting to the monitor is easy as it has a USB-C input that supports Thunderbolt 3, allowing you to display an image from a compatible device and charge it at the same time, which is great if you have a laptop like a MacBook. The LG is a great choice for bright rooms because it has impressive peak brightness, enough to fight even intense glare, and the reflection handling reduces glare well. However, it costs more and isn't as versatile for office use due to its narrow viewing angle. While the 38-inch screen size is bigger than other ultrawide monitors, you can get an even bigger display with the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9, which has a 49-inch screen. This extra screen space is great if you need to open multiple windows at once or want an immersive viewing experience. It has a large 38-inch screen which is bigger than most ultrawide displays, and it has a 3840x1600 resolution that results in good text clarity and sharp images. It's a versatile monitor with great overall performance, and it's a great choice whether you're a gamer, photo editor, or need something for the office. The best ultrawide monitor we've tested is the LG 38WN95C-W.
